Pentium1-90:

My first pentium based system was bought in a shop of a friend
(Electroline in Deinze 1994 or 1995).
It was a Pentium 1 @ 90 Mhz with a 1 GB HD, a whopping 16Mb Ram
(at that time the price of 16Mb ram was 24000 Bfr), a YEONG YANG big tower
case and a goldstar 17inch monitor (price tag: around 150.000 Bfr).

A funny story is the following: of course I was very happy with my new PC
(which did cost a fortune) but about 2 days after I bought it two guys from
the Jehovah witnesses came over and tried to make me believe that people
don’t need money because it doesn’t make us happy (sure !).
I discussed for about an hour and then they tried to SELL
(for money of course) me a booklet.

Because I found a job in the CAD world (Derveaux in Ghent) I bought
a Miro 20SV (Electroline: 12000 Bfr).

After a while the motherboard died on me (it had to warm up for about
10 minutes before it would start) but because it was still in guarantee
it was replaced. Electroline wasn’t that big at the time and he once told
me it was his first machine he sold with such a price tag, so the guy tried
to find the problem by using cold spray on the main IC’s – without any luck.

I think the CPU was changed also because of the well known Intel floating
point error or it is possible I just got a test disk.

The motherboard, HD and 16Mb Ram were sold to Tom Vandevelde
(Price don’t remember).

And I updated to a Pentium 166 MMX
