Bravo EL-01:
I discovered neva (where I bought a Calcomp Techjet 5536 A0-plotter)
and a friend of mine (Didier Decaluwe) wanted a cheap PC.
At neva they had 2 AST ??? (Pentium 1 @ 133Mhz) with monitor for 6000.
I decide to buy them both, one for my friend and one for euh… myself
… let’s say I couldn’t resist because it was cheap. Friend very pleased
with his cheap acquisition.
One problem: one of the two monitors was with another kind of VGA connector
and so I went back to Neva.
No problem and he gave me a “new” second hand 15” screen instead (ADLXXS).
After one week or so I promised Tom Bollez to sell my AST to his mother,
but I liked the screen and thus I had a problem.
Back to Neva where they had a few AST Bravo EL PC’s (Pentium 1 @ 166Mhz MMX),
again with monitor but this time for 7000 Bfr. So I bought one,
sold the AST ??? to Tom’s mother, with the AST monitor.
Like this I had: an AST Bravo EL, motherboard AST, Pentium 1 @ 166MMX,
USB, 16Mb Ram, 4Gig HD, ADLXXS 15” monitor all for lousy 7000Bfr
I plugged in my ATI All in Wonder pro, the Voodoo 2 card,
32Mb extra Ram and a CD-rom. And made a machine for my brothers
kids to play with.
The system today:
Mainboard: AST
Pentium 1 @ 166Mhz MMX
48Mb Ram
4Gig HD
ATI All in Wonder pro
Voodoo 2
10Mbit 3Com Etherlink XL
CD-ROM
